Paul Revere was born in Boston, Massachusetts. His father taught him how to work with silver. He made plates, pitchers, mugs and other things. He had a silver shop for more than 40 years.
Paul Revere wanted America’s independence from Britain. He was a member of the Sons of Liberty. The Sons of Liberty were a secret group of men that did not agree with the British government. Paul Revere was part of the Boston Tea Party. People dumped tea into the Boston Harbor to show Britain they did not want a tax on their tea.
Paul Revere rode his horse on his famous ride the night before the American Revolution began. He learned that the British troops were coming to attack the colonists. As he rode his horse from Boston to Lexington, he called out, The British are coming, the British are coming.
This made sure that when the British got there, the Americans were ready.
Revere fought as a soldier during the American Revolution. He also made weapons for the American soldiers.
