Badminton is a racquet sport. The racquet is very light and has strings. It is played on a court. The court has boundary lines. It can be played with two or four players. Players are on opposite sides of a net. The net is 5 feet high.
The game is started with a serve. The birdie is hit with the racquet over the net. The serve must be underhand. The serve cannot touch the net. Players try not to let the birdie touch the floor. There can only be one hit on each side. If the birdie touches the floor, play is over.
Only the team that serves can make points. If a server doesn’t score, a new player serves. A player keeps serving as long as points are made. If two people are playing, the game is played to 11 points. If four people are playing, it is played to 15 points.
